OK, since it will be 100+ degrees on Friday we are now thinking of going up early Saturday morning to avoid the heat. I checked the Jeepers Jamboree web page and there are no runs Saturday morning so we should be good to go. The Run on Friday leaves Loon around 9am so it would not make sense to go in on Friday especially in the heat.

I'm thinking of meeting at Raleys in Auburn at 7am and heading up. Can we camp at Spider if we leave the rigs within 25' of the trail?

My new 37" MTR's are ordered and should be here Thursday so hopefully they will be on for this trip.

What does everyone think?

Just got home and looked up weather. Looks like Saturday is a little hotter than Friday with a bigger difference in the mountains but according to KCRA.com the 100+s don't hit till Sunday.

I'm not too keen about leaving my rig down by the trail and camping away from it (too many things to get ripped off).

You can camp @ Ellis or the turn below the hill 1/4 mile before the Box.

You can also turn right onto slabs after the box .

There is a few trees about 100 feet away w/a camp site.
Can't see the lake, but it is another 100-200 feet away over the hill.

camping below the box in that tree area might be a good spot, (if it's not already taken)

The days of 4wheeling to and camping at Spider Lake are long gone...

7am Saturday at Raleys works for me (that gives me a little more time to finish my ice chest rack.... 8) )

Maybe Jim if he comes. Have not heard from Sean yet but if he goes he might tow as well. Could be fun finding a spot to park.

That's what I'm worried about. Not finding anywhere to park.

The chalet should have parking.
Just before the first dam. Make sure you park in the gravel lot. Most people go out the tahoe side but there will be a plenty of traffic coming your way sunday morning.I would pack up and leave early.

We will be in the area this weekend working on the property. The old rob's resort if you need help or ?. It's gated now so you might have to walk in.Please do not block the gate We are located in the back left.Check in at the lodge if it's open.

Just drive it, it's all slow back roads anyway or have you not licensed it yet?

Cool, maybe we will stop by on our way out Sunday.

It looks like there are 4 confirmed and one maybe (Jim). See everyone Saturday morning it should be fun. BTW, I got my new tires on today so I'm ready to go play.
