Throwing together a run up to Fordyce, September 5-7
Thinking anyone who wants to head up after work on Friday Sept. 5th can wheel down to the 1st crossing and camp out and wait until Saturday morning for anyone who wants to come in that morning.
8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

this will be a relaxing trip (not a power run), to just do the loop from Eagle lakes to Fordyce Lake in a weekend, thinking we could stay either near WH-2 or near Committee xing Saturday night, and than just head out to Fordyce Lake and home Sunday..

I think Sierra and I might be able to make this trip if it's still happening.

not sure when everyone is heading in,
but if you come in Saturday morning
we will be down at the 1st river xing (probably on the other side of the xing) and will be heading out from there around 9am

Great run... 8)
had 5 rigs in our group (4 of which were Webilt members, so I think we are safe to stay in the club for another year...  )
Mocha Mike, Luigi, Will and Kirsty, Jaime.
the 5th rig was a guy named Jay he had a built black 93 Toyota extracab, some might remember him from tagging along with the club a few years ago up to Barrett Lake.

Friday:
around 7:30pm we all meet at the staging area at Eagle Lakes and headed in
Driveline hill is tore up but we all made it no problem, the 4 Toyotas went up the far right line (huge stair steps by the tree) Mike went up the left line, we motored down the the 1st river xing, we hung a left before the river and camped for the night

Saturday:
broke camp around 10:00am and started further in (I personally haven't been past the 1st river xing. since 2004..!) river flows stayed in the 55-60 cfs range all weekend, we stopped just before Winch Hill #1 for lunch and a quick swim (for Will,, burr). Mike took the lead and made it up Winch hill #1 ,Will was next, he wheeled up , but at the very top he went hard left, which leaned his rig to the right and
dented/scratched his front fender and doors, also Kevin Hilton (my passenger) used all his strength to push against Will's 4Runner to keep from breaking out his right rear quarter glass, it was successful, with only some big scratches left on the glass. Luigi was next, he started up and pulled out his front driveline, While He and Jay were resetting it, I heard Zach and Bo on the C.B., they had headed in early that morning with their families, they lined up behind me and Jay at the base of Winch hill#1, after Luigi got everything buttoned up he proceeded on heading up, Jay and myself elected on backing down from the line and opt'ed for the by-pass to help speed up the line process (Zach and Bo were heading back home that afternoon) , Luigi got an awesome wheel stand at the top (recorded by Zach on the Go-Pro), and conquered his 1st time Winch Hill #1,,!! 8)
Bo was next he took the same line as Will and layed it over a little on the passenger side but his exo-cage took the hit, and had no problems, Zach was next he motored right up with no issues... 8) 8), Zach and Bo said their goodby's and headed onward, while the rest of our group headed to Winch hill #2, again Mike in the lead had no issues, the rest of us had minor tire spins here and there and left the hill in our rear view mirrors, we had hoped that the "secret spot" was going to be open for camping, and were happy to see Mike already down there setting up, we had the whole area to ourselves.. 8) except for the abundance of "white flowers" behind every bush..  that place is an awesome place to camp.., Luigi, Will and Kirsty stayed up late solving all the world problems.. :)

Sunday:
packed up camp and back on the trail by 9am, heading to Committee xing. the trail to the final river xing was pretty uneventful, Mike got out a few times to scout (pun on words....) out the camping areas to see what might need attention during the upcoming FOF clean-up. Will was 1st to cross, and after a few attempts at the step between the trees, was able to get up, Luigi was next and after his 2nd attempt (spinning wet tires) he slid over to the right and his passenger door stopped his forward momentum against the tree (nothing a big hammer and some internal door latch pieces cant fix... ), Mike was next he went in between the trees and after a couple of attempts went hard left up the big rock to stay away from the tree and made it, I was next and followed Mikes line, Jay opt'ed for the right line to the right side of the tree, after we were all across, we were greeted by a Forest Ranger and Brett Pebble (FOF) in the Rangers TJ Jeep, Mike informed them of what he saw downstream for the clean-up, the rest of us motored on, somewhere along the new by-pass up to Fordyce Lake, Jay ended up denting his drivers front fender, the trip down to Cisco grove was uneventful and dusty...

carnage report:

Will: dented front fender/doors and a scratched rear quarter glass

Luigi: cut sidewall (but didn't go flat)

Jaime: a few scrapes and scratches on the underside, front fender clearance by the tires

Mike: sliced side wall (spare installed on the trail)

Jay: dented drivers front fender

The Fordyce trail is an awesome trail and far more technical than the "new and improved" Rubicon...

Had a great group of Guys and Gal on this run, and maybe even a new prospect for the club, (Jay)

I took a few pictures mainly of the camp areas , I know Luigi, Kirsty and Will took a ton of footage on Luigi's Go-Pro, so Im sure a cool video is also to follow..

\

that's all folks...... 8)

Great recap. You have a better recollection than I do. My memory of the trip was clouded with Coors light, shots of crown and vodka and 7s.
