It's time for us to step up!

Fordyce trail is in desperate need of a white flower cleanup.

Tentative plans are to camp. @ Driveline hill.
We will set out in the morning in groups to inspect & clean the various camping spots along the trail.

Spots that need addressing:
H2O crossing #1
WH #1
Secret Spot Campground
Committee Crossing
WH #3
(Please post up any other locations/names that you can think of).

We will be centering our attention on the areas below WH #1.
Other clubs will (hopefully) deal with the upper sections.

The plan is to up the trail as far as we can go.

Head count/participation will determine if we bring the BBQ (if fixed).

Please post up if you can make it.

Items that we could use in bulk:
Trash Bags
Surgical Gloves
Soap/Hand Sanitzer

Other useful things:
Trailers
Rakes
Shovels
3' clampers/spiked sticks (park cleaner types)

Keith Pratt & other clubs should be taking care of the upper sections.

I believe they will base out of Fordyce Lake & work up & down.

Dave suggested he invite volunteers to our camp for dinner/use of BBQ (Currently BYO food) which I think is a great idea.

However, DL hill is rather far from Committee & WH #3.
I suggested, since we will be working our way up toward WH#1, that we set up Sat camp there.... It would be easier for the others to meet up with us & we wouldn't have to backtrack.

What do others think?

It's been 5 days & there have been 23 views of this thread. No one has responded here or to my request on the club text message list.

It's 2 1/2 weeks away.

I wanted it to be Oct 18, but was informed Oct 11 would have more Members present. Are any club members going to the clean up?

I would love to be part of this,
But after Oct. 5th and up to Nov. 21, Will and Myself will be very busy at work ...........
I hope to be part of the repairs needed to the BBQ trailer before the trip, and can provide some burlap bags if needed..

unable to attend as I work the weekends , I did speak to J-Dunn , and let him know I will be donating a case of plastic trash bags and a box of latex gloves for the clean up , my self and a few others went in Wednesday morning camped at committee , we did pick up some trash , mostly found cans , and camping gear , chairs , tent , stove , tarps , the Forest service was working on the section from staging area at E.Lakes to drive line ,, they had a huge tracked excavator and were cleaning out the areas on the trail that water pools, so as to let them drain , nice job !!!

Thanks Jaime & Wayne-O.

Zach & Beau texted me that they can't make it.

Zach also has some supplies for the cause.
If anyone going on the trip happens by his shop/has plans to see him, please pick the stuff up... (I'm not sure if he will be at meeting next week).

People I haven't heard from:
Brian D
Dave D
Case
Bryan W (assumed he will be saving the forest elsewhere)
Rick W

Dave is going to the store Tuesday or Wednesday.
Please post up if you are bringing guests so they don't starve... Also need to bring a side dish.
