So I have been communicating with Dave at Ruffstuff and it looks like the swap meet is a go, they just have to get final approval from the landlord but he does not think it will be an issue.

So, assuming we get approval the dates he threw out were June 4th or 5th. Do we want to do this on a Saturday or Sunday? Does this date look OK to everyone or do you know of any conflicts?

I'm excited to bring this back, I always enjoyed the few we had in our early years. Plus I have a ton of junk to unload :D

I'm good for that weekend. I would say Saturday would be best but it's graduation weekend so probably Sunday.

Maybe we should do it the weekend after the club meeting. Its a little further away from most graduations.
Saturdays are better but what ever the group decides. Ruff Stuff is also open on Saturdays which may be more convenient for them.
Are we charging for spaces?

I second what this guy said. weekend after the club meeting means we will probably be better organized. also RuffStuff being open will help draw folks to this thing.

maybe charge spaces for non members? I was never invited to the old timer swap meet... you guys probably traded gold pieces for wooden spoke wheels

Don't schedule around me. Right now I'm not sure when we are returning --- could be gone thru the weekend of the 10th also.

hey guys had an idea to maybe add some interest at the swap meet. what if we brought down the flex ramp from Jaime's and did simething with it? or is that too much liability? just a thought. figured it might be cool.

Back in the day when we had the swap meet at Rocklin Foreign Car, We used the ramp, It was fun and we had a lot of rigs try it out, if we do use it, we may have to lift the front up to make it a steeper approach to make it more of a challange for today's flexy suspension.... 8)

It is a little short. I'll park at the top of it.

OK, the swap meet is a go for June 11th. RuffStuff is all on-board. They are lining up several of their big suppliers for booths as well as having a big display and sale of their own. We will have tons of parking for trailers, etc. We can have the BBQ and drinks and charge for spots and food (donation).

I went there today and met with Ron, they are going to heavily promote this so it could turn into a huge event. We can use the restrooms for our cooking staff to wash hands but we will need to rent at least 2 toilets is what they are thinking.

We are going to need committee heads for the following areas and all hands on deck if we are going to make this work. I am volunteering to head the second one.

1. Food
2. Collect money for spots and manage traffic -- Brian Dierksen
3. Run a 50/50 raffle

More on this at the next meeting but I wanted to get people thinking about it.

Thanks,
