Check out this bumper my bro-in-law built for me!
I did the cutting, he did the grinding and welding!

beats me... I have seen others do it, so I err on the side of caution (or paranoia).

Well the Aussie is in... installed the third member last night in my gravel driveway in the rain (appreciate your garage!). Put fluid in the rear end on my lunch break today... (benefit of a short commute). ;)
Spun the wheels with it up on jack stands... it's locked!
Can't wait to finish it off and street test it!
Was quite a pain to get 'er done. Could not have done it without my father-in-law's help. I owe that man some beer!
Had to drill the keeper pin hole to get it out. Previous owner had hammered the end of the hole on the carrier to keep the pin in. Gee thanks... Can't imagine they come that way from the factory. Then the Aussie stuff wouldn't fit in the carrier. Had to do some grinding on the carrier... then it was a puzzle to figure out how to get it in with the pins in place, springs , etc... The instructions STINK!!!! Either that, or I'm an idiot! (or a little of both).
Will let you know how it handles on the street (since it's my daily driver)... Hope it doesn't lock in the rain! :)

Last I knew lockers don't come with dampness sensers so drive carefully when it is raining.

Last night I drove around the block, and this morning in to work on wet roads. It performed beautifully... didn't even notice it!
Last night I jacked one wheel off the ground, and then drove forward in the garage to make sure it was locking. Hooray!!! :)
